Atested is source-available under the Business Source License 1.1 (BSL 1.1). The licensor is AIEngageTech, LLC. The Licensed Work is Atested v1.0.0.

The Additional Use Grant permits personal non-commercial use, evaluation and testing, qualifying academic and research use, and non-production development without a paid commercial license.

Any commercial production use or organizational operational production use requires a paid commercial license from AIEngageTech, LLC. This includes use by or for a business, nonprofit organization, government body, consultancy, or other organization, even when the use is entirely internal or no separate fee is charged. Providing or making Atested governance functionality available to a third party also requires a paid commercial license.

Copyright permission and product entitlements

The BSL determines whether your use of the source code is permitted. Separately, Personal, Personal Plus, Crew, Team, Institution, and other product license keys enable the features, capacities, support, communications, and services assigned to the selected tier. Machine limits, user ranges, report-history ranges, and feature gates are product entitlements; they are not clauses in the BSL itself.

Change Date

The stated BSL Change Date is May 13, 2030, and the Change License is the Apache License 2.0. Under BSL 1.1, the conversion for a particular version takes effect on that date or the fourth anniversary of its first publicly available distribution, whichever comes first.
